New Maruti Suzuki SX4 Sedan Diesel 2011, Price in India, Mileage, Specifications | Car Review | Maruti Suzuki, currently the largest carmaker in India, has just expanded its lineup with the introduction of a new diesel variant of its popular SX4 sedan. Expected to become at least as popular as the other diesel produced by Maruti Suzuki. Maruti Suzuki India on February launched the diesel variant of its SX4 sedan.

“The new age diesel technology as offered by SX4 is high on power and performance, while being low on emissions. SX4 diesel offers an economical and punchier ride,” Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi was quoted as saying by The Economic Times..

The company expected the new variant to be as successful as other diesel cars from MSI's stable, he added.

Swift, DZiRE and Ritz are the three other cars from the company that are available in diesel variants.

MSI claims that the SX4 diesel will give a mileage of 21.5 km a litre. The SX4 also comes in petrol and CNG variants.

When asked how much sales the company is targeting from the new variant, MSI Managing Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Mayank Pareek said: “now we are selling 1,500-1,600 units of petrol SX4. We expect this overall volume to go up, but we have not fixed any numbers yet.”

According to the company's estimates, the market size of the A3 segment, where MSI is present with its sedans SX4 and DZiRE, was about 30,000 units a month, he added. “MSI's share is about 36 per cent and we see good opportunity in the A3 segment,” Mr. Pareek said, adding that about 60-65 per cent of the total car buyers in India preferred diesel variants.

deadlock continues, management & workers at the plant maruti manesar - indian maruti suzuki - NEW DELHI: The dispute between the management of the automobile manufacturer of the country's largest Maruti Suzuki India, and workers at its plant in Manesar, which went on strike Saturday, continues today.

"The situation remains the same as yesterday. However, no loss of production that we have a normal holiday on Sunday," the company spokesman told PTI.

Yesterday, about 2,000 employees working in the factory has stopped production of the second amendment of the date of loss of production is about 650 points. Plant to throw out about 1,300 units per day Manesar plant.

Workers on strike for recognition of the new covenant - Maruti Suzuki Workers Union (MSEU) - associations, working in Manesar plant in addition to keeping workers on contract for two new units coming within the complex. Maruti Suzuki India is the creation of two new annual installed capacity of 2.5 lakh units each within its Manesar plant with a total investment of Rs 3.625 million rupees. While the existing facility can produce 3.5 lakh units per year Manesar, Gurgaon three units have a combined annual capacity of 8.5 lakh units.
